CASE STUDY
Out of Gauge Transportation
It is expected that transportation will be performed in an agreed timeline, without damages and within the agreed cost.

However, there is a lot more to it.

See examples of the projects we delivered and the challenges resolved
Project Description & Specifics
Transportation of 20 units within Moscow region within very short timescales, in line with the equipment removal schedule at the origin site.

Cargo: Tractors, balers, rakes – 20 units.
Weight range from 2 to 10 tons.
Level of oversize – low.
Challenges & Solution
The solution requires tight management of the fleet and orchestration of loading/offloading operations at both origin and destination. The availability of special fleet (platforms) in the Moscow region is quite low. Most of the fleet is situated close to different project locations around the country and takes time to get mobilized.

We balanced the time, cost, the number of type of vehicles available at short notice. The 20 units were moved between the sites in 3 days, within the customer approved budget and synchronized with the company moving schedule.
Project Description & Specifics
Time-definite handling of a tractor to and from an exhibition centre in Moscow.

Cargo: Tractor and a new model of an 8 row crop seeder
Route: delivery from Moscow region to a Moscow exhibition centre and back

Ensure the exterior quality for exhibition (no exposure to regular transport conditions of outdoor machinery)
Challenges & Solution
Special wrapping and packaging was provided, to ensure the exterior paint quality and allowed the customer to place the tractor in the exhibition without additional cleaning and polishing.
Delivery and pick up time windows and handling at the exhibition was aligned with all parties.

The final result was a on-time delivery of the tractor to the exhibition and timely collection after the event.
Project Description & Specifics
Urgent delivery of an oversized sprayer to the Belgorod region.

Cargo: Self-propelled sprayer with initial height of over 4,4 meters. Weight — 9,6 tons
Fragile construction of the sprayer was an additional consideration.
Route: Moscow region — Belgorodskaya region, over 650 km, which includes federal, regional and local roads, featuring a number of bridges with limited height for through-traffic.
Challenges & Solution
The solution required minimizing the level of oversize to ensure better routing options. The sprayer was partly dismantled (wheels and axles removed), reducing the height to under 4 meters. The fragile components were packed safely, with specific lashing performed on a custom produced lodgment frame to further secure the cargo.

Proper route planning helped to avoid transport disruption, and additional cost, which resulted in timely delivery and security of the cargo. The cargo remained safe and was re-assembled in accordance with the customer requirements in the agreed time-span.
Project Description & Specifics
Time definite delivery of wheeled excavators from a remote area to the port of Vladivostok

Cargo: 2 SANY wheeled excavators, 7960 *2490 *3610, weight 13.5 tons, 4915 * 1720 * 2515, weight 3.9 tons
Route: Olginskiy region – Vladivistok
Delivery time – 6 days; Delivery schedule – October
Challenges & Solution
The routes in the area during October are characterized by severe weather conditions, including heavy rains and possible snow. The remote area lacks asphalt or concrete roads and tracks, with frequent mud on the road after rain. There are a number of low bridges along the route, and therefore equipment was partially dismantled to reduce the oversize level. Our solution required route study, calculation of the required rolling equipment, and route planning to allow maximum bypassing of the bridges. Due to seasonal road conditions, it was decided to plan for an additional prime-mover, which was actually brought into operation to enable the truck to cope with the road challenges.
Equipment was delivered successfully on time and within budget.
Project Description & Specifics
Delivery of rolling mill parts from India to Vyksa, Russia

Cargo: Rollers, 6 boxes, with a length of 20 meters each, total weight 50 tons
Route: Mumbai, India – Vyksa, Russia
Twisting and bending are not tolerated during transport
Challenges & Solution
Ocean freight delivery to Novorossiysk as a bulk shipment was performed. Handling in Novorossiysk port from the vessel required the use of special equipment – 2 traverses – to avoid twists. Our representative monitored the operations in the port and controlled the loading of equipment for the final delivery to Vyksa. The route to Vyksa is 1600 km and includes regional and local roads, necessitating the precise planning of the route to reduce sharp turns and narrow tracks.
There are no trucking equipments in Russia with a length of more than 20 m, and so a sliding trawl (that is, telescopic) truck was used. To prevent the cargo from deflection and twisting, we additionally implemented supporting structures –special frames and stands were designed and created by us for delivery by truck.
A complex multimodal delivery went smoothly on time and within budget, avoiding additional costs and damages.
